2014 RAM Heavy Duty Lineup Gets Powerful New Engine Option

There's a big, bad new engine available in this year's RAM Heavy Duty pickup truck lineup: a powerful new 6.4-liter V-8 HEMI engine  that will deliver best-in-class power for the drivers who choose it as an option from the lineup. This engine produces 410 horsepower and 429 lb.-ft. of torque. It also comes with VVT with Fuel Saver cylinder deactivation, meaning it's commanding and efficient enough to keep everyone happy.

In addition to the new optional 6.4-liter HEMI, there are several other engine options, including a 5.7-liter HEMI V-8 engine, which comes standard on the RAM 2500 and 3500 models. This engine creates 383 horsepower and 400 lb.-ft. of torque. It works with a six-speed automatic transmission.

There's also an ultra-powerful 6.7-liter Cummins Turbo Diesel I-6 engine, which is available in three variants. The first of these is paired with the brand's six-speed manual transmission and produces 350 horsepower. The second option works with a 68RFE six-speed automatic transmission and produces 370 horsepower.

Finally, the 6.7-liter Cummins High-Output Turbo Diesel I-6, available in the RAM 3500, works with the Aisin six-speed automatic transmission, making it extremely powerful and capable.
