2014 RAM 1500 Features Most Efficient V6 and V8 Engines

At Vicksburg Chrysler Dodge Jeep RAM, we were already excited about the arrival of the 2014 RAM 1500 but now that the auto brand has released more details regarding the new truck, we are just plain exhilarated.

Information about the 1500's powertrain reveals the pickup not only delivers the ultimate rugged and raw power that Vicksburg, MI area truck fans love, but it also exhibits a more refined side. That's because the new RAM, with its enhanced 8-speed automatic transmission, offers the most efficient V6 and V8 engines available in the U.S. auto market.

With the 2014 RAM 1500, drivers have the choice between its standard 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 engine or its 5.7-liter HEMI V8. Later this year, a third option will be added-- a six-cylinder EcoDiesel, which doesn't have confirmed fuel-economy ratings just yet but we can anticipate exceptional efficiency with this advanced diesel setup.

At the moment, the V6 engine offered in the High Fuel Economy (HFE) trim of the 1500, is the most efficient choice. While churning out 305 horsepower, the RAM truck also achieves 18 mpg in the city and 25 mpg on the highway. Opting for the V6 in the base model only drops the city rating by 1 mpg.

Its V8 engine is also good with fuel and thanks to its innovative 8-speed automatic transmission, it is the most efficient V8 available to U.S. drivers. RAM enthusiasts who like the extra boost of a HEMI-equipped powertrain, but don't like the extra boost in prices at the pump, will find the best of both worlds in the new 1500.

While the 2014 RAM 1500's engine options are pretty good reasons to test drive the truck at our dealership, our experts can show you even more things to love about the new truck, from its technologies to its trim levels. Contact us to learn more!
